What Machine Would I Choose?

Let’s face it a 3000Kg machine that’s got a spin cycle of 750rpm could be lethal if something goes wrong. The current guidelines by the Health and Safety Executive ( HSE UK ) states that both the seller and the buyer are responsible for machinery safety. The seller cannot simply state ‘ Sold as seen ‘ to protect himself against his liabilities. If the machine you are looking at appears to have little or no evidence of maintenance, or generally looks in bad condition – walk away and don’t consider it. Your safety, and that of your employees is always paramount.

These machines that I’m talking about now will usually have the cutting deck underneath your seat or out front underneath your feet. There will also only be two main driving wheels one on the left side and one on the right side.

All Rapier Looms laundry equipment requires regular servicing and spare parts from time to time, to provide optimum efficiency. This will be a financial headache if the machine is a rare model and the parts are expensive and difficult to get hold off. Not a problem you need if your machine has broken down, leading to inconvenient and more importantly, expensive down-time. Also consider technical back-up. Who will service this type of machine?

Nuclear… When nuclear energy was first put in use it was all the rage. Everybody wanted a nuclear plant to produce electricity. It seemed safe. Everybody said it was safe. Then came Three Mile Island and worse yet, Chernobyl. When Chernobyl blew up radiation spread over a large portion of the Soviet Union. It is estimated that about 4000 deaths were caused by the radiation fallout. Nuclear power is a lot safer today than when Chernobyl exploded but I am sure it could happen again. And what if terrorist decided that they wanted to blow up a nuclear plant? In a well populated area this would be devastating.

They are now popular for their advanced sewing and embroidery machines, many of which are fully automatic and computer controlled. Earlier Singer Machines cost about $100, which was a huge sum of money at that time. Now there are products of much lower price and better quality produced by the company.

If you run out of needles and you have a blunted needle that you need to use, try rubbing it across an emery board at an angle to smooth it out to get by until you can get more needles.

These are just some of the basic sewing machine stitches that’s used. There are a lot more and it also depends on what type of machine you are using. The newer version of machines will offer more than the older ones.
